DESCRIPTION:<p>The Highland Garden Club of Evanston is holding their annual Backyard Botanicals sale on&nbsp;Saturday, May 31, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. (rain or shine), in&nbsp;Ackerman Park, 2430 Central Street, Evanston, southeast corner of Central Street &amp; McDaniel Avenue.&nbsp; Ackerman Park is conveniently located west of the Central Street shopping district (Central Street &amp; McDaniel Ave.).&nbsp; &nbsp;</p><p>A variety of perennials, including native plants that work in residential gardens for bees and butterflies, will be available from gardens of our members and friends.&nbsp; All plants are from this area and have been a success. Experienced gardeners will be there to answer your questions. Examples of some of our plants: Natives: Monarda (Bee Balm), Turtlehead – Pink, Yarrow, Queen of the Prairie, Wild Ginger, Daisies, Coneflower, May Apple, Solomon’s Seal. Perennials: Ligularia, Ladies’ Mantle, Astilbe, Sedum, Epimedium, Lamium and much more. All proceeds support community projects such as a beautiful community garden at the northwest corner of Central and Stewart. Cash and checks, please.&nbsp;</p>
