Sustain Evanston Applications will be available March 2nd.

Program guidelines and agreements can be found here

Who is Eligible?

Healthy Buildings Covered Buildings and Businesses

Due to decreased City budgets, the majority of funding will go towards buildings that are covered by the Healthy Buildings Ordinance. Check the covered buildings list (link) to see if your property or business is eligible. HBO building projects should focus on energy efficiency or electrification. Examples include door or window replacement, insulation, electric heating or cooling, electric and energy efficient appliances, and more.

Waste Projects

There are funds for new compost and recycling projects. Contact the Sustain Evanston team with any questions.

Before You Apply:

This year, the Sustain Evanston grant for HBO projects requires applicants to complete a facility assessment with ComEd  before they can be considered for funding. The intent is to have increased building knowledge and suggested projects before the Sustain Evanston application and to take advantage of free resources. Contact the Sustain Evanston team with any questions.
