Calling All Young Heroes! Is your child ready to level up their confidence and emergency readiness? The Evanston Fire Department is hosting a Kids First Aid Event on Sunday, March 1st! Sessions at 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 1:00 p.m.
Your child will:

🩹Build their own first-aid kit.
🆘Learn essential first-aid skills.
❤️Master hands-only CPR basics.

CERT 2026 Spring Session from March 5 - April 30 (no class April 2)

Extinguish Fire CERT 

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a group of Evanston volunteers who assist the Office of Emergency Management in times of need. In the event of serious man-made or natural disaster, the Office of Emergency Management may call upon CERT Volunteers to help respond. The spring session for CERT training will take place Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. The session is FREE and eligible for ages 17 and up. The training of approximately 20 hours will cover classroom instruction and hands-on lessons. Registration is now open for Spring 2026.
