The annual budget is a policy document, which sets the financial course for the City of Evanston and defines the service priorities provided to the community. Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports

The Annual Comprehensive Financial Report is prepared by the City's Finance Division in accordance with the financial reporting principles and standards set forth by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB). Responsibility for both the accuracy of the data and the completeness and fairness of the presentation, including all disclosures, rests with the City. City management has established a comprehensive internal control framework that is designed to both protect the government's assets from loss, theft, or misuse and to compile sufficient, reliable information for the preparation of these financial statements in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Single Audits

Th City is required to undergo an annual single audit in conformity with the provisions of the Single Audit Act of 1984 as amended and U.S. Office of Management and Budget Circular A-133. The information related to this single audit, including the schedule of federal financial assistance, findings and recommendations, and auditors' reports on the internal control structure and compliance with applicable laws and regulations, is presented in the reports below.
